Lorde explains the meaning behind her new single and it's SO relatable

Lorde just dropped her highly anticipated BRAND NEW single 'Green Light' this morning and FVM were lucky enough to speak with our Kiwi legend about her latest work! 

Lorde revealed that the song (which took months to produce) is a lot different from her other stuff, and is a song about heartbreak.

"It’s totally a song about heartbreak," Lorde explains to FVM. "I’ve never been really good at writing songs about relationships. It is about that but it’s more about finding yourself through that situation. You go through the thing and it’s so awful and you just wish you could let go. The Green Light thing is saying I’m not okay right now but I’m going to be okay. That Green Light of finally being okay is going to feel incredible.

"It’s a weird, complex song. There’s so much going on emotionally."
