Ed Sheeran's shows will go ahead in Auckland, but slight changes have been announced to the set up.

Frontier Touring just released a statement on their Facebook page, advising concert-goers to bring ponchos.

The stage and screens are also being slightly adjusted.

It says:

Frontier Touring wish to advise that adverse weather conditions have impacted the production setup for Auckland’s three Ed Sheeran concerts.

As a result, all three Auckland concerts will be affected with necessary adjustments made to the staging and screens to ensure the safety of the audience.

Ed is really excited to kick off the first of his New Zealand Divide shows, performing a close to two hour set that has delighted fans across the ditch.

Based on weather forecasts, Frontier Touring strongly advise fans to bring a poncho as umbrellas will not be allowed inside the venue. Please also allow extra time for travel to and from the venue."

Ed just shared a pretty sweet pic of his 'Maori welcome':
