The Hunger Games is back with a new prequel and we are so here for it!
The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes is by the original Hunger Games author Suzanne Collins and is sure to give us more information into what happened to our favourite characters before the games.
"The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes” takes place 64 years earlier, during what Collins describes as the Reconstruction period after the war. It starts off on the morning of the 10th Hunger Games competition.
And you don't have to wait long to get your hands on a copy. The new book is out May 19 2020, which gives us enough time to read the whole series and binge the entire movie franchise so you're all clued up.
In a statement, Collins said:
"With this book, I wanted to explore the state of nature, who we are, and what we perceive is required for our survival"
"The reconstruction period 10 years after the war, commonly referred to as the Dark Days -- as the country of Panem struggles back to its feet -- provides fertile ground for characters to grapple with these questions and thereby define their views of humanity."
